Network Supervisor / Assistant IT Manager – Sydney
Our client is a very well respected privately owned company that is a leader in its field. Based on the lower north shore they are seeking a Network Supervisor / Assistant IT manager to join their team. This is a newly created position due to the continued growth of the company.
The main responsibilities of this role are as follows:
- The day to day running of the Company computers and computer network, printers, plotters, scanners, PDA’s and software.
- Log all requests for support onto the Help Desk. Provide first-line (telephone) and second-line (face-to-face and online support) help desk support to customers (RCC Staff)
- Monitor outstanding requests for support and communicate with both users and IT staff to ensure that problems are resolved quickly and effectively
- Assess requests for support and, if unable to provide a solution, escalate the problem to the pre-defined appropriate staff using the Help Desk software
- Maintain a customer-focused approach to the resolution of problems
- Facilitate correction of any system failures, contact point for computer problems.
- Update documentation and on-line help facilities
- Provide network support, resolve printing and networking problems to ensure that the network runs to a pre-defined level
- Manage the user permissions and access to the system, set-up new users and provide initial training in facilities and applications. Manage removal of terminated employees from the system
- Making sure users can use the equipment, by providing personal tuition and self-help instructions
- Undertaking housekeeping and reporting functions for the area of responsibility
- Installation and upgrade of new hardware and software under the guidance of the IT Manager
- Assist with design and maintenance of the LAN
- Provide field support and provide support for connectivity problems for remote sites
- Keep up to date records about the location and maintenance of computer & telephone equipment
- Keep track of printer workloads to ensure that no printer is being over or under worked
- Day-to-day liaison with IT suppliers/partners to ensure compliance and service quality
- Conduct and manage server backups and administer security procedures
- Liaise with staff from within local business units to determine networking requirements and to develop cost effective and reliable networking solutions
To be succesfull in this role you will be an energetic go getter capable of working closely with the IT Manager as well as the ability to work independantly.
You will ideally have your MCSE and have a broad knowledge of all IT issues that can arise.
Salary range is in the $60-80K Package area.
