JAVA Developer – Contract
This contract role provides technical design, development and support to a number of applications in JAVA/J2EE using Web Technology solutions. The Technical JAVA Developer may also be responsible for a team of developers and will perform hands on development tasks and work with and liaise closely with lead Architects.
The ideal candidate will have most of the following skills and/or knowledge and experience:
• Five years commercial JAVA/J2EE development experience
• Experience in all phases of the Software Development Life Cycle
• Experience of large, complex software applications
• Some technical team leadership experience
• Development experience using Servlets and Struts
• Knowledge of Object Oriented language concepts
• Experience with Web development tools – HTML, XML, XSD, etc.
• Experience in GUI Web design and Open Source Framework
• Knowledge of relational databases i.e. ORACLE, Informix
• Experience in dealing with Business Users
The initial contact calls for an immediate start and is for a period of four months, but there will be plenty of scope for the successful candidate to extend this contract into other development projects being undertaken by our client. The role is based in the Sydney CBD.
